Example of Level 4 Bite, Palm Side of Hand

This is the palm side view of the same dog bite.

He bit so hard I actually thought he had taken my fingers with him. Maybe I have a low pain threshold, but wow, it hurt!

There are 4 punctures on this side of my hand. The puncture directly below my ring finger was deep and painful. I immediately took my ring off after getting bit for fear of the swelling. The two near my pinky are also fairly deep and the one near the bottom of the photo has a tear in it. I think this was because she pulled him off my hand, but I’m not sure.

I categorized it as a Level 4 because there are more than 4 punctures and at least two are deeper than 50% of his canine teeth. And I would personally categorize it as a level 4, because he pursued me.
